The main focus of team is the management and implementation of infrastructures and applications under cloud strategy for the customers.
Job Description
As a Unix/Linux Engineer, you take over responsibility for the delivery of excellent services towards the customers managed by your team.
The main goal is to minimize the amount of unplanned downtime in the customer's production environment, to execute the implementation/optimizations in the customer's Unix/Linux infrastructure and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
This includes the lead and participation in technical projects, consulting, proactive capacity and availability management as well as the delivery of support services.
You will coordinate the work of Unix/Linux 3rd line engineer team working with you to achieve defined targets (SLA, SLO). You will still take direct technical responsibility of some of the customer's servers as administrator.
Main responsibilities
- Provide technical support and leadership in a complex mission critical infrastructure environments
- Ensure that services under your responsibility are delivered according to the Service description (SLO&SLA).
- Closely cooperate with other technology domains to establish implementation plans for changes, projects and backup and recovery
- Ensure components supported are maintained, optimized and used effectively.
- Is responsible for full cycle development, deployment to go-live.
- Consult on the architecture and design of hardware and software within environment.
- Consult solution options and high availability designs.
- Ensure compliance with internal technology standards and solutions.
- Service Reporting, Service Performance Review
- Act as the change planner and/or change approver and/or change implementer
REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent in administration of RHEL and SUSE Linux, HP Unix knowledge is an advantage
- Working knowledge of HP ProLiant blade series
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years practical experience in Unix/Linux administration, 5 years as minimum in IT industry
- Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written in English
- Experience in leading and coaching working groups and team meetings in a multi-cultural environment
- Analytical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Service oriented behavior and communication to internal and external contacts
- ESX administration skills is an advantage
