DESCRIPTION
The Firewall Specialist is responsible for following activities:
* Provides operational support duties and must be willing to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
* Performs a variety of operational responsibilities and moderately complex network security tasks such as conducting system health checks, network management and capacity monitoring, connectivity (CRD) analysis, end-to-end application troubleshooting, risk analysis, maintaining and configuring network security elements (e.g. firewalls, IPS, and AAA servers), and other support related activities.
* Assists senior engineers in reviewing new and existing connectivity to achieve optimal network performance while minimizing risks and exposures to the assets.
* Assists with documentation of network change requests, element acceptance, support guidelines and policies, support notes, methods and procedures, best security practices, scheduling, security checklists, inventory, and vendor engagement.
REQUIREMENTS
*Fluent in English, both written and verbal
* Enhanced knowledge of Cisco devices
* Minimum 3 years of supporting heterogeneous networking environment
* In-depth understanding of OSI L1 to L7 security
* Must have hands-on experience with one or more of the following: Lucent VPN firewalls, Nokia IPSO & Checkpoint, Netscreen, PIX, TACACS, Cisco/Juniper switches and routers, Sniffer, IDS and/or IPS
* Expert knowledge of cryptography, information and network security, and life cycle management related to operations, software development and systems administration
* Certification in CISSP or GSEC and/or CCNA, CCNP is an advantage
* Communication skills, high motivation, teamwork skills
