Based at our state of the art call centre in Chatham in Kent, in close proximity to London, you will be responsible for effectively servicing our International customer base in Poland. Working to individual and team performance targets, you will be the first point of contact for new and existing customers. Day-to-day you will deal with a range of enquiries covering initial customer acquisition, through to servicing and contacting to secure payment as well as working to resolve customer issues. While ensuring adherence to company procedures and compliance you will also identify issues, suggest solutions and help drive improvements. The ability to multitask and effectively manage your time, whilst delivering exceptional customer service is paramount. You will have worked in a fast paced, high performance, target driven banking environment that has a focus on service quality. You’ll need to be adaptable as you’ll be working in an innovative environment and will need to quickly adopt new practices and ideas

Educated to a good GCSE standard or equivalent including English and Maths you must be able to communicate fluently (both written and verbally) in English and Polish. You will also have experience of working in a customer service role ideally gained in a contact centre environment. Knowledge of the Polish financial services industry would be an advantage. Self-motivated, you will be comfortable working to targets and able to use your initiative when needed. With an eye for detail, you will be able to present ideas, explain options and solutions in a clear manner over the telephone. You must also be flexible to work a rotational shift system that will involve early starts (7am) and late finishes (7pm) as well as weekend working.

The Bloomberg Photo team is looking for a staff Photo Editor to be responsible for processing imagery for live and non-live events on the London picture desk. The role consists of receiving, editing and sending content to client, as well as expediting photos for usage on all Bloomberg platforms. In addition to having an excellent understanding of news, the position also requires excellent picture judgment, French and/or German language skills, advanced knowledge and experience with industry standard editing tools and a thorough understanding of journalistic ethics. Strong Photoshop, Photo Mechanic and ftp transmission skills are mandatory and experience at an international wire service.

The position reports to the EMEA Assignments Editor in London and the Global Photo Editor in New York.

The Role:

-Editing incoming images to select most relevant and newsworthy content from each event for our global clients.
-Monitoring news and assigning photographers in Europe especially France and Germany.
-Reviewing and correcting metadata of images to conform to Bloomberg guidelines.
-Researching accurate information for captions.
-Licensing imagery from third party sources.
-Supporting partners and internal platforms with content requests.
-Gaining permissions of use for handout imagery.
-Prioritize and update images according to relevancy on Bloomberg platforms as news updates.
-Stay informed and well read on business, finance and political news.
-Make appropriate editorial decisions on illustrative imagery on Bloomberg platforms.
-Monitor and update the photo desk diary as required.
-Flag breaking news and upcoming events to EMEA assignments editor.

Qualifications:

-University degree in a related field such as Photography, Journalism or Communications or equivalent work experience.
-Experience at an international photo agency.
-Excellent knowledge of image legal restrictions, licensing and permissions.
-Excellent negotiation skills.
-Fully conversant with content image management systems such as Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, ftp transmission software etc.
-Skilled at managing, using and creating content for social media platforms.
-Maintain speed, accuracy and efficiency in fast-paced environment.
-Demonstrated strong knowledge of industry style of captioning and IPTC standards.
-Extensive knowledge of digital photography and camera technology.
-Strong working knowledge of global current events especially in business, finance and politics.
-Ability to quickly identify the strongest pictures within large sets of images.
-Ability to multi-task and maintain thorough attention to detail.
-Excellent writing skills, spelling and grammar.
-Foreign languages a must, especially French and German. Other languages including Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Italian etc plus.
-Ability to prioritize heavy workload and meet strict client deadlines in a global environment.
-Excellent verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
-Must be highly motivated, organized, reliable and flexible and organized.

Development Support Team

The Core Technical Services (CTS) Group is responsible for maintaining product and technical expertise in all of the Enterprise products and services and forms the nucleus of the Enterprise technology development and innovation.

The team advises clients and 3rd Parties on application integration and usage best practices with a programming focus for Bloombergs Enterprise technologies. Additionally the team troubleshoots data delivery and product configuration problems, and identifies and escalates both defects in the APIs and production affecting issues within the Bloomberg infrastructure. This is supplemented through maintaining content in the client-facing developer support site including FAQs, tutorials, best practices and sample code.

The team also provides technical advice to end users of the data delivery solutions, the Desktop API and Server API, with the focus to ensure their applications are requesting data in an efficient and effective manner. Furthermore the team drives and develops internal procedures, process automation, and documentation for development support.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems/Technology or equivalent experience
- Experience programming in C++, Java or .NET
- Experience programming in UNIX and/or Windows
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a technical emphasis
- Client focused with the ability to understand, anticipate and effectively respond to customer needs
- Must be fluent in the English language, spoken and written (Fluency in Japanese is a plus)
